2023 Apprenticeship Application

Applications are due by March 15, 2023. Accepted applicants will be notified by March 31, 2023; classes begin April 2023. (Class schedule) Most classes take place on Orcas and San Juan Islands, WA. Please be sure that you can make arrangements to attend classes if you do not already live in the San Juan Islands. Ferry schedule changes seasonally and reservations can be difficult to get. Housing arrangements can also be difficult to arrange. Pre-planning is a must for joining us.

This apprenticeship is an intensive program: 9 full-day sessions from April-November (including a 2-3 day overnight field trip) and 2 personal projects and presentations that require approximately 1-2 hours of work per week while classes are in session. Participants are expected to make the majority of classes (no more than 1 missed class) and must attend all of the scheduled field trips. (If classes are missed, students are responsible for getting notes from the missed classes. There is no refund for missed classes.)
