The Marine Botanica Thalassa Soap Bar is crafted with a therapeutic blend of brown and red seaweeds — Bladderwrack (Fucus spp.) and Gigartina (Mastocarpus spp.) — inspired by long-standing traditions of applying seaweeds topically to support skin vitality, and formulated to highlight the many nourishing elements these unique seaweeds species have to offer.
Rooted in the concept of thalassotherapy (from the Greek thalassa, meaning “sea”), this bar reflects time-honored connections between ocean elements and wellbeing — a modern expression of sea-infused care.
Seaweeds bring a rich combination of compounds to skin care: water-binding polysaccharides, antioxidant polyphenols, and protective pigments. These constituents are studied for complementary roles in maintaining moisture, supporting skin integrity, and limiting oxidative stress associated with skin aging.
